Heart Attack & Warm Water

Someone forwarded this mail recently. No comment as to whether it is true or not but thought it might be worth reading. You be the judge.

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about Heart Attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just
consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Common Symptoms Of Heart Attack...

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

Perak Twin MB

The verdict is out and BN Zambri is the legitimate Mentri Besar of Perak according to the Court of Appeal. It overruled the High Court decision the previous week. Honestly, I think majority of you already knew what the outcome would be, right? No? come on…. that probably means you are not a Malaysian lah! For sure, PR is going to file for appeal again going to Federal court, what next after this court? Badminton court? Volleyball court? The best and highest court is the PEOPLE’s COURT! Ok, ok who is the rightful MB is immaterial to me and I am not here to show my support for BN or PR. I just hope the rightful MB (according to whatever court’s ruling) is able to see the big picture from the rakyat’s point of view and is man enough to dissolve the state assembly and settle the crisis with a fresh election.

I am not a lawyer nor a judge, so I am totally clueless as to how our Judiciary system works. Come to think of it, I felt the High Court proceeding previously was like child play. One court overruled another and the High court judge is like a lower class junior officer being accused of incompetent. What a joke… wonder what Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim the High Court judge is feeling right now.

1st round – High Court => Winner Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin
2nd round – Court of Appeal => Winner Datuk Zambry Abd Kadir
3rd round – The People’s Court => Winner THE RAKYAT!

BTW, we have Happy Hours at a pub yesterday – no, no … we are not celebrating about the MB. A friend just won some monies betting on the outcome of the twin MB case. Smart fella …

Perak fiasco 507 - Free VCD

BN Perak is distributing 50,000 copies of free VCD to the public regarding the happenings in the Perak State Assembly on May 7th. I have not seen the video but was told that the footage contains only the hooliganism acts of the PR assembly men/women. As reported in the media, the video has been carefully edited to ensure the public has a “clearer view” of what happened in the assembly on that auspicious day! Well, I don’t think this is a good move. There are more cons than pros. If you want to let the public know the real happenings you should let them see all or you don’t show at all. The people are not stupid, they can see and judge for themselves. BTW, why politicians always think we the people are stupid!? I personally think it is a bad strategy for BN to hide the hooliganism acts of the BN assembly men/women in the VCD as we have already seen the footage in TV news on the night of May 7th and we know what actually happened. This is going to backfire them. Sigh!

Nice little joke ... Mice with balls

Secretary: "Pastor, we've got a problem in the computer lab where you met with the confirmation class last week. Some of the boys in the class started messing with the mice."
Pastor: "What?!?" (thinking: we've got mice in there!?)
Secretary: "Yeah, it seems some of the boys removed their balls."
Pastor (incredulously...): "Th..th...they did what??? How in the world did they do that???"
Secretary: "They must have used a screwdriver or something."
Pastor: "We've got some pretty sick boys... I... I... Didn't even realize mice had balls...!"
Secretary: "Yeah, they roll around on 'em all the time!"
Pastor: "What???" (still thinking of the little fury real animals) "Well...what can *we* do?"
Secretary: "I guess we'll have to put 'em back on the mice. I can probably do it if I can get enough little screws."
Pastor: "WHAT?!?"
Secretary: "Hmmm....Pastor, are we talking about the same thing?"

Ever Wonder ...

Read this somewhere... it's interesting. Itsn't it?

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dish washing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

Perak fiasco 507 - Now you see MB and now you don't

We are at it again! Malaysia is really living up to its self-claimed tag name of Malaysia “Boleh” – anything is possible in Malaysia. This time it is Malaysia Judiciary system’s turn. When the verdict of the Perak MB case was announced two days ago, we thought it would be a damn good platform for the Perak Sultan to take this opportunity to resolve the Perak crisis once and for all. No, wait, hold on! We are granting the appeal from BN, the court of appeal said. Everything is back to square one – 2 MB in Perak and 2 Speakers in Perak State Assembly. So we have BN MB moved out from office on Tuesday and PR MB moved in, then we have PR MB moved out and BN MB moved back in again on Wednesday. Next, PR would file another appeal and the drama goes on and on, the 2 MBs move in and move out ….. nothing gets done. The rakyat are forced to watch the worst circus show ever on earth against their will. Maybe they can come to a compromise – they take turns to be MB on alternate day and take a break on Sunday! Bloody hell .... grow up and get a life man! WTF!

Perak fiasco 507

Wow! What happened in the Perak State Assembly on 507 was unbelievable. It’s like a blockbuster action movie packed with a combination of comedy, drama, suspense and maybe horror?

Seriously this Perak crisis should not have happened in the first place. Almost everyone is in agreement that the only solution to resolve this crisis is to dissolve the state assembly and have a fresh election in the state. Let the Perakians decide for themselves which coalition has the people’s confidence to govern the state. The Ruler is well aware the decision he made has resulted in today’s situation and he must have been trying to find ways and means to solve this crisis, the thing is he needs to have an appropriate platform to solve this without compromising the integrity and pride of the monarch.

Arsenal versus Manchester United

I watched the Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and Manchester United this morning. It was fantastic and the best match I ever watched this year. One of my house mate John – a die hard Arsenal fan was so sad and depressed. He took MC and skipped work, while Brian another mate (a Manchester United supporter) was in dreamland. As a neutral I would like to see Barcelona playing Manchester United in the final. Honestly Chelsea is boring, sorry Chelsea fans! It would be a terrific match when you have Ronaldo and Messi on the same field together with Eto and Rooney and all other big stars. Better apply leave now for May 28th.

Goal scorer - Park Ji Sung

Two goals hero - Cristiano Ronaldo

A Day trip to Tanjung Sepat

A group of friends invited me for a day trip to Tanjung Sepat recently. The itinerary includes visit to Dragon fruit farm, Longan farm, Potato Chip factory, Mushroom farm, Homemade steamed bread (or locally known as “PAO”), Coffee Powder factory, Lovers’ Bridge and the beautiful sunset at Sepang Goldcoast.

The trip was alright in general but the visit to those farms and factories was very brief and somewhat in a rush. It was raining so we could not get into the dragon fruit farm. As for the Longan farm, there were no Longan as the harvest season is already over. What luck we have for the fruit farms! We had seafood for lunch near the Lovers’ bridge and steamboat dinner at Sepang Goldcoast. Some tour members pre-ordered more than 300 “PAOs” and it costs them RM2.00 a piece! I tried one which was highly recommended by the tour guide but it was so-so just like the normal PAO I used to have in town. I think it’s all over priced and over hyped.

Honestly the trip was a bit dull actually and nothing much to write about.

Swine Flu – Be Alert!

Swine flu has been the talk of the nation these days. The virus first showed up in Mexico and now has more than 100 deaths. US have also reported with 1 death and the virus has spread to Europe and slowly coming to Asia. New Zealand has so far been identified as the only country in Asia region with confirmed cases. Face masks would again be selling like hot cakes just like during the SARS period a few years back.

The SARS epidemic was the first of its kind then and I had some bad experiences dealing with it albeit indirectly. I was in Singapore on business when SARS was in rampant phase. Came back to Malaysia and could not get a face mask. I have to get someone in US to courier in the face mask. Then my business appointments were all cancelled and postponed because my clients somehow knew that I just came back from Singapore and did not want to take the risk to meet me! I only managed to see them again a month later…. and they were still cautious and kept a distance from me! LOL!

Facts about swine flu (courtesy of theSun for the benefits of all)

What kind of flu is it?

The virus is an influenza A virus, carrying the designation H1N1 and is spreading from person to person. It contains DNA from avian, swine and human viruses, including elements from European and Asian swine viruses, according to the US Center fro Disease Control and Prevention.

How it is spread
- Coughing
- Sneezing
- Kissing (oh.. oh)
- Touching infected objects
- Touching nose, mouth and /or eyes with infected hands

Symptoms
- Fever
- Muscle aches
- Lethargy
- Coughing
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Nausea

- Chronic health problems (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease)
- Pregnant women
- Young children

Complications
- Pneumonia
- Bronchitis
- Sinus infections
- Ear infections

Treatment
Oseltamivir (Tamiflu)

Zanamivir (Relenza)

Prevention
- Covering nose and mouth with a tissue upon coughing and sneezing
- Avoiding contact with ill persons
- Avoiding the urge to touch nose, mouth and eyes in general
- Staying home from work and /or school upon onset and for the duration of symptoms
- Assuring adequate and thorough hand washing and use of alcohol based hand cleansers

What a shame Doc!

The recent report about doctors minding their own private matters and reading newspapers while on duty in emergency department is both shocking and sad. It’s a real shame as there were many patients waiting for treatment and the doctors couldn’t care less! Of course they can do anything they like if there were no patients but the report mentioned there were more than 20 patients waiting to see the doctors.

The response from the hospital director was really joke of the day! She said there were only 8 patients and NONE OF THEM were in PAIN!! In other words, she was saying the patients can wait and let the doctors do their own things first lah... Shit! Must they be in pain to get treatment??! How pathetic!! For the benefits of the people, all the so-called YB and Ministers should “turun padang” more frequently and conduct random check to see for themselves the problems the people have been experiencing for the past 50 years … WTF!
